Description In this contribution we have studied a rabbit liver metallothionein by constant current chronopotentiometric stripping analysis (CPSA) with hanging mercury drop electrode. The highest sensitivity of the MT determination was obtained with CPSA. In (dE/dt)-1 - E coordinates rabbit liver metallothionein gives the well developed peak H. This H peak, produced due to catalytic hydrogen evolution at highly negative potentials, is sharp and reproducible [4]. The shape, height, and position of the H peak were studied under varying experimental conditions - pH, supporting electrolyte composition, time of accumulation, temperature, concentrations of MT and buffers, and the presence or absence of oxygen and metals in solutions.
