Description The aim of this paper is to describe the ideal conditions for participation in the subject of Czech language and literature as perceived by sixth grade students. The paper is based on 28 interviews with pupils, which were conducted as part of an intervention research aimed at introducing elements of dialogic teaching into Czech language and literature lessons and at the same time increasing the participation of all pupils in productive dialogue. The results show that, according to the pupils, there are no ideal conditions for participation for all, but they are individual according to their communication profile.
