Description The policy paper is one of the outputs of the project South Caucasus at the Intersection of Interests, which was implemented in 2021-2022 (applied research project). The first part of the analysis focuses on the status and importance of oil supplies from Azerbaijan to Czech and other Central European refineries. In the second part, it focuses on the natural gas source areas, and in particular on the infrastructure of the South Caucasus, the Caspian region and the Eastern Mediterranean with the potential to influence the gas supply of Europe as a whole and the Czech Republic in particular. The context is the energy security situation in Europe, influenced by the conflict in Ukraine in 2022.
