Description | This article describes the state of research on the Roman bronze vessels, brooches and the Terra Sigillata, which were found and published in Moravia until 2010. The results show that the typological composition of these finds changed considerably before, during and after the Marcomannic wars. The investigations are affected by a lack of an analysis of Roman coarse ware pottery, which is strongly represented in Moravia and the landscapes of Lower Austria north of the River Danube. Trade and po-litical contacts of the Germanic elites are discussed as reason for the presence of Roman products in the area under investigation. |
