Description Student self-assessment is an important goal of language teaching, because it trains learners into autonomous personalities and also promotes their lifelong learning ability. The paper presents practice-oriented models (or programs) on how to promote the acquisition of self-regulatory skills, which include self-evaluation (self-assessment), in the classroom, and, above all, discusses which principles these models follow.
