Description Arachnophile true-bugs (Hemiptera: Heteroptera) inhabit the webs of specific spider species. Most of them are cleptoparasites, searching for insects entangled in spider webs. The stilt bug Metacanthus (Cardopostethus) annulosus is the only arachnophile cleptoparasitic true-bug in Europe. It is usually found in the funnel-webs of agelenid spiders (Araneae: Agelenidae) in the Mediterranean, extending to Pannonia, and has also been discovered in the Czech Republic.
