Citation
Description This article is a study of the ideas of A. Tovar (1911-1985) and F R Adrados (born 1922) on ancient democracy, focusing on his main works (Life of Socrates, The Athenian Democracy), as well as other minor works, written during Francoism and Tardofranquismo. It also explores their intellectual biographies. It is a historiographical study on the work of two of the most important Spanish philologists of 20th. At the end of the work, we reflect on the use of the concept of "democracy" in these authors and in the last J. Ober.
