Description The attention of the article is paid to intercultural communicative competence development manifested in writing in English which was examined in the ninth grade of the lower secondary school. It is introduced how intercultural communicative competence was developed via interventions designed on the basis of the first research outcomes. Those research outcomes proved that partial components of intercultural communicative competence were manifested unevenly in pupils’ writing. The article summarizes outcomes resulting from an analysis of a corpus compiled from pieces of writing which were produced while completing a writing task after the phase of intervention. The presented research outcomes describe the way and extent to which developing intercultural communicative competence was manifested in writing of the pupils who dealt with the interventions.
