Keywords Codex diplomaticus et epistolaris regni Bohemiae (CDB); Czech lexical elements; anthroponyms; toponyms; appellative nouns; 11th-13th ct. Czech
Description CDB contains numerous Czech lexical elements ("bohemika") that can be found in documents written in Latin, therefore it is a significant source for investigating the earliest stage of the development of Czech (11th-13th ct.). These elements are especially anthroponyms (Mojmír) and toponyms (Bohunici ´a village settled by Bohuň's people/subjects´), less frequently appellative nouns (jalovica´a heifer´), all of them providing a unique testimony about graphical, phonological, morphological and lexical aspects of language of this period as well as about official ways of naming people and places.
