Description | This paper looks at current government debt management policy and examines trends over the time in government debt financing as a response to debt crises. The emphasis is put on the structure of government debt, debt service and on distinction of debt holders. Due to these descriptions we are able to distinguish changes in debt management policies and show consequences of these changes at the aggregate level. Moreover we investigate evidence of these debt management policies and changes in debt structure based on data of Czech Republic during last two decades. And also we represent our findings in context of European debt crisis and outline plausible future development of government debt management policy. |
