Description Voltage sensitive dye di-4-ANEPPS is widely used in studies of cardiac electrophysiology. Although reduction of cardiac impulse propagation and prolongation of RR interval in the presence of di-4-ANEPPS is known, the effect on impulse conduction through AV node has not been studied yet. In this study the quantification of di-4-ANEPPS impact on duration of impulse conduction through AV node and ventricles in isolated rabbit hearts was done. It can be concluded that voltage sensitive dye di-4-ANEPPS leads to prolongation of cardiac impulse conduction through the ventricles. Conduction through AV node is impaired only slightly.
