Description | BCR/ABL negative myeloproliferative neoplasms are associated with increased risk of thrombosis. The conventional thrombosis risk assessment of these patients is based on an age and a history of thrombosis. The aim of this work is to analyse the relevance of cardiovascular risk (CV) factors as possible additional thrombotic risk factors in cohort of 186 patients. On the basis of the results on the current cohort, it is suggested that CV risk factors may influence the thrombotic complications in myeloproliferative disorders. Evaluation of cardiovascular risk factors may play a major role in determining treatment strategy for patients with BCR/ABL negative myeloproliferative disease. |
