Citation
Description It is exactly ten years since Jonathan Haidt let his Emotional Dog out (paper The Emotional Dog and Its Rational Tail). Since then it has become immensely famous in the moral psychology circles – indeed, it is almost impossible to find more cited paper published after 2001 in this field. On the occasion of this special anniversary this presentation is conceived as a veterinary exam to diagnose what breed the Dog is and to assess its health condition. In doing so I will focus on its backbone claim that moral judgments are mostly the product of affectively valenced moral intuitions rather than of moral reasoning. Did the time take its toll on the Dog? Or is it in better shape than ever before?
