Description The book describes in detail the geological structure of the eastern part of the Czech Republic, consisting of two geologically distinct units – the Bohemian Massif and Western Carpathians. Articles on 71 localities are sorted into five chapters and arranged depending on the era of their formation: Proterozoic, early Palaeozoic, late Palaeozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic. For each one of the localities there is the description of the geological structure of the area, significant geological phenomena and rocks as well as minerals or fossils of the area. The text information is accompanied with colour photos and maps and short summary in English. All localities enlisted in the book are easily accessible without restriction, only in few cases there are rules relating to their legal protection.
