Description The post-industrial landscape is a legacy of the industrial era that lasted over two centuries in industrialized countries. Industrial heritage, both as objects and areas directly shaped by the industry, or accompanying residential, transportation, agricultural, military areas and results of other activities are rooted in the contemporary cultural landscape, usually without their original function. Their concentration give the landscape a particular character and give its designation as the post-industrial landscape . Although this subject was discussed in the world for at least a decade, only now the details were defined in the framework of the project " The fate of Czech post-industrial landscape" No. IAA 300860903 supported by the Grant Agency of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. There have been developed the characteristics of this type of the landscape, designed a methodology for the identification, delineation, mapping and typology, based on generally available data. Similar data are available in a decisive majority of EU countries and industrialized lands overseas, making it possible to carry out comparative studies outside the country. This monograph presents both the terminological and methodological guide and also the catalogue of identified post-industrial landscape of the Czech Republic with the appropriate texts, maps and illustrations. This publication may serve well the territorial administration and decision-making bodies at all levels, including the institutions of the European Union. It is also intended for the professional and wide publics.
