Description Ars Electronica 2013 , Linz , 5 - 9 September 2013 Ars Electronica festival opened one of the three major themes and issues that scientists deal with. The first issue is the origin of the universe. This topic was discussed last year at ORIGIN - how it all begins. The second question mark still hovers in our infosphere, the origin of life (these themes were reflected in 1999, Life Sciences , and in 2009 Human Nature). Third question, which is still undiscovered, is the understanding of the human brain. Decoding the human brain is the holy Grail of neuroscientists who are trying to find the essential code. Unsurprisingly, the AE annually presents with loved variety of media artists from Japan, because it is a strategic point in the network of new media art, through which their work can be visualized in a European context. Japanese artists were represented in almost all the sections that festival program offers.
