Description | The sustainable development of sports clubs is subject to the necessity of engaging in financial management as well as applying of its methods and tools in effort to achieve their financial stability. The economic situation and general characteristics of sports clubs have not been much explored in the Czech Republic so far. The paper presents partial results of an extensive analysis of primary data obtained in a questionnaire survey conducted among sports clubs registered with the Czech Sports Association. The objective of the survey was to map the environment, in which Czech sports clubs operate, and to identify their main economic characteristics based on a selected sample. The acquired outcomes could form a basis for improvement of their financial management and support a further scientific research in this area. |
