| Description | North American as well as European studies of Alzheimer Disease and other types of dementia warn about the burden experienced by caregivers of close persons with neurodegenerative disease. Furthermore, they note the impact of this care on their physical and psychological well-being. The frequency of these diseases in population rises and therefore this issue has become of most importance and this fact has been recognized by Czech professionals as well. The goal of this study is to highlight the issue of burden of family caregivers of persons with dementia in senior age, factors influencing its origin and ways of its assessment. The text offers outcomes of some relevant researches which were carried out. |
