Description | Municipal debt is part of the public debt, but this narrowly defined issue stands in the shadow of the central government debt, both in the field of research and in actual practice. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the importance and recent trends of municipal debt in Europe. A partial contribution is the discussion about existing and potential problems and solutions to this issues relating to its active or passive debt management to maintain national public finance sustainable in long-term. |
