MUNI Day preparations are in full swing

Thanks to the Memorandum, academic exchange between the Czech Republic and Austria will further intensify and build on existing joint research projects. On behalf of Masaryk University the Memorandum was signed by the deans of the Faculty of Economics and Administration and the Faculty of Social Studies. The partnership with one of the best Austrian research organisations opens up the opportunity for new interdisciplinary projects and international cooperation.
Cooperation between scientists and public administration institutions is crucial for improving their functioning, says Filip Hrůza from the Institute of Public Administration. The Institute has been operating at the Faculty of Economics and Administration since 2003, and during its existence it has been able to advise public adminsitration officials, city councillors as well as ministries. Those interested in cooperation or expertise can reach out to the Institute.
Mathematics and statistics should be well understood by all economists. Yet these subjects are a nightmare for many learners. That is why the Maths and Stats Support Centre held a one-day workshop where staff from support centres across the Czech Republic shared their experiences and examples of good practice.
When the war in Ukraine started a year ago, Masaryk University immediately responded to the situation and started providing assistance to Ukrainian students, employees and their families through the MUNI HELPS Volunteer Centre and other means. In addition to students, Ukrainian employees have also found a safe haven at MU. Read the stories of four of them.
Last year at FEA MU, the idea of expressing support for the invaded Ukraine arose very spontaneously and relatively soon after the start of the conflict. The idea of Vice-Dean Marie Hladká for a charity buffet excited colleagues and students of the faculty. The proceeds went to humanitarian and educational causes through the Masaryk University account.
These days we commemorate ten years since the ceremonial opening of the Center of Scientific Information's renovated premises and the foyer in the Faculty of Economics and Administration building.
