The charity buffet, which was invented by the students themselves, takes the form of a charity buffet – whoever wants to and can, brings Christmas treats and other snacks made at home, which are then exchanged for a voluntary contribution to the charity collection. This year, the proceeds of the charity event were used to support the Nojmánek Home, which is located near our faculty, and its staff and clients also participated at the Christmas Kindness event.
The clients of Nojmánek are very creative and presented their own ceramic production, baked gingerbread and unconventional Christmas decorations at the Christmas Kindness event, which were of great interest among students and teachers and quickly sold out.
This year, the Christmas Kindness event was also attended by international students and staff of the office for international relations, who got acquainted with some of the Czech Christmas traditions and painted beautiful colourful gingerbread during the event.
All the time there was a lively atmosphere at the Christmas Kindness event and the treats and products were quickly sold. At the end of the event, the proceeds were counted, which amounted to 21 855 CZK.
Thank you to everyone who contributed materially, organizationally or just by their presence and helped to spread the atmosphere of togetherness and goodness at ECON MUNI!
Let's get to know our neighbours, or what and where is the Nojmánek Home:
The Nojmánek Home for Persons with Disabilities is a social care facility providing support and assistance to persons with mild to profound mental disabilities aged 16 to 64. In addition to year-round residential services, it also offers outpatient services for incoming clients. The Nojmánek Home is located in a barrier-free family villa, which is in close proximity to our faculty.
