The Economics field of study provides economists with in-depth knowledge of current theoretical economic approaches. The aim is to prepare experts who will be able to deal with both theoretical and applied issues independently, i.e. experts who will have the abilities to think analytically using modern theoretical economics as well as mathematical and statistical methods. Graduates can work mainly in the academic sphere and in the field of economic research, but they should be able to work on capital markets, in public administration or economic journalism as well. Graduates have also an appropriate basis for the doctoral study in the economic field at both Czech and foreign universities.

The graduates can work in the field of economic theory and research; however, they also have abilities to work in the commercial sphere, financial sector, state administration or economic journalism.
